��AV is the largest pulp producer in the world, the largest paper manufacturer in Latin America and the leader in the toilet paper market in Brazil. From our farms and mills come products that are present in the daily lives of more than 2 billion people around the world. These products include packaging paper, books, straws and cups, sanitary pads and toilet paper. What is Biomas?

Biomas is an impact business created by ��AV in partnership with the banks Itaú Unibanco, Rabobank and Santander, the food company Marfrig and the mining company Vale. Biomas aims to restore and protect, over 20 years, a total of 4 million hectares of native forests in different Brazilian biomes, such as the Amazon, Atlantic Forest and Cerrado. What is bio-oil and what is it used for?

What is pulp and what is it used for?

Pulp is a product of cellulose, the primary component of plant cells, which can be found in plant species such as eucalyptus. Pulp is ��AV’s basis for developing renewable products. In nature, cellulose gives plants rigidity and firmness. In our daily lives, it is part of various items, such as toilet paper, diapers and book paper, among others. What is fluff pulp and what is it used for?

Fluff is a type of pulp used in hygiene products such as diapers, pads and pet mats. ��AV’s eucalyptus fluff, Eucafluff, was the first in the world in its segment. Learn more on the Fluff Pulp page.

What is microfibrillated cellulose and what is it used for?

Known as MFC, microfibrillated cellulose is a renewable solution that can be used in various applications and can replace fossil components. It is a raw material used in the production of more sustainable fabrics, fiber cement and cosmetics (such as shampoos, conditioners, moisturizers and sunscreens). What is lignin and what is it used for?

Lignin is an important component of trees, associated with their protection. But it is more than that. ��AV Ecolig, our lignin, is an alternative to replace fossil-based materials, combining high performance with antioxidant potential, absorption of ultraviolet radiation (UV) and binding properties. What is the Cerrado Project?

The Cerrado Project is the construction of the largest single-line pulp plant in the world, with a production capacity of 2.55 million tonnes of pulp per year. Located in Ribas do Rio Pardo, in Mato Grosso do Sul, the project is received an investment of R$22.2 billion, one of the largest investments in the private sector in Brazil today. What types of anti-corruption practices are implemented by ��AV?

We have zero tolerance for corruption and recognize the importance of transparency and integrity.
